If you do not change direction, you may end up where you are heading. ~Lao Tzu
When you are done with the beach for the day it is nice to wash the sand off of your feet and everywhere else. Hapuna Beach is no exception. I enjoy this picture because it reminds me of happy days at the beach on the Kohala Coast.
Sun kissed and happy is such a great way to end a relaxing interlude.
The big island of Hawaii offers many opportunities to swim and snorkel and walk in the sand.
An early morning walk on a beautiful trail yielded many great photographic opportunities.
----------------
I started with a digital photograph and used a HDR process to tone map the light. I did some tonal work to even out the colors and make them realistic to what I was seeing in nature but not excessively.
I am interested in photography as an "unusual" or "unique" image making process. In other words I enjoy starting with a photograph of an ordinary scene or subject and then I try to make it my own by adding unusual processing techniques. I hope you enjoy viewing my work as much as i enjoy creating it.

"Hāpuna Beach State Recreation Area is a large park and sandy beach on the Big Island of Hawaii. The Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel is also located adjacent to the beach. Hāpuna (literally, "spring" or "pool" in Hawaiian[1]) is popular with residents and visitors.
This is one of a few other white sand beaches on the west coast of the Big Island. The few others include Kua Bay (Manini'owali Beach), Kaunaʻoa Bay, known as Mauna Kea Beach, and Samuel M. Spencer Beach Park. It was named the Best Beach in America by Florida International University professor Stephen Leatherman, known as "Dr Beach", in 1993.[2]
The 61.8-acre (25.0 ha) park is located at coordinates 1959.4789′N 15549.3809′WCoordinates: 1959.4789′N 15549.3809′W, west of Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19, called Queen Kaʻahumanu Highway) on Hapuna Beach Road. It is about 2.3 miles (3.7 km) south of Kawaihae, Hawaii.[3] A part of the Ala Kahakai National Historic Trail runs through the park from Spencer Beach to the north, to Puako to the south.[4]
Hāpuna beach has lifeguards, but can be hazardous during high surf conditions since the beach is not protected from the open ocean. The park has free admission, paved parking, pavilions, picnic areas, restrooms, and showers. Camping permits are available.[5]" - Wikipedia
